The body charged with regulating the NSW greyhound racing industry has cut back on public transparency by removing dogs killed by the industry from its much-vaunted dog tracking database.

The NSW Greyhound Welfare and Integrity Commission (GWIC) boasts that its “world-first digital portal” eTrac “allows the commission to monitor and record the whereabouts of every registered greyhound in New South Wales, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, more robust and efficient racing operations, and even greater confidence in the sport.
