WorldSPB: Salvador makes it four in a row

WorldSPB: David Salvador (Team ProDina Kawasaki XCI) continued his domination of Tissot Superpole in the World Sportbike class by claiming his fourth consecutive pole position.

The 23-year-old Spaniard set a 1’45.549 to take the top spot by almost a quarter of a second from Loris Veneman (MTM Kawasaki), while Xavi Artigas secured third with a last-gasp lap to complete the front row for the Kawasaki ZX-6R 636.

Championship contender Antonio Torres (Team ProDina Kawasaki XCI) will start Race 1 from fourth, alongside Fenton Seabright. The PHR Performance Triumph rider had topped Free Practice 1 earlier in the day.

Carter Thompson (Team BrCorse) continued his impressive run of form despite crashing at Turn 8 midway through the session. The Australian arrived at Magny-Cours after three consecutive podiums and, despite the incident, recovered to set the sixth-fastest time and secure his third successive third-row start.

“It’s been an amazing day! I tried different setups during the morning session and in the afternoon, for the Superpole session, it was a little bit difficult because the track temperature was very high. I tried to adapt to this and in the end we did a great job with my teammate during the Superpole. It’s super nice after the summer break to take another pole position. We’ll continue into the weekend with the same performance.”
