Police have launched an investigation after the grim discovery was made in Dorset.

Human remains have been found near a Tesco with an abandoned caravan searched by police. Officers rushed to a wooded area off Riverside Avenue in Bournemouth, Dorset, at about 8.40am on Saturday (April 26) after receiving reports.
Dorset Police has launched an urgent investigation, with a cordon set up at the scene which is near a branch of the supermarket giant in Castle Lane.
A local said he spotted an abandoned caravan two or three weeks ago. He told The Sun that at midday today there were police cars and forensic vans pulled up around it.
The police have said they believe the death didn’t happen recently.

A spokesperson confirmed that Dorset Police received a report at 8.41am today that human remains had been found in a wooded area off Riverside Avenue.
They said officers were at the scene and a cordon was in place.
Dorset Police’s spokesperson said: “A full investigation is underway to establish the identity of the person and the full circumstances of the death.”
They also confirmed the death appears to be “non-recent”.
