A 25-year-old fruit vendor was shot dead during a home invasion in Techier Village late Saturday night, during which thousands of dollars’ worth of jewelry was stolen.
Ville Junior Blair, also known as “Boyie,” was at home with his girlfriend around 11:45 p.m. when three armed men forced their way into the one-bedroom house, demanding money and gold.
The intruders ransacked the bedroom and stole a $20,000 gold chain, a $15,000 gold band, and $140 belonging to Blair’s girlfriend. One of the attackers reportedly instructed the others to “spare she” before they turned their guns on Blair and opened fire.
Blair was shot multiple times and died at the scene.
Police officers, including Inspector John, Sergeants Gosine and Smith, and Constables Lall and Edwards from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region III, responded to the scene and have launched an investigation.
