Rayman revival
- by Ben Kerry
Some now-deleted job adverts from Ubisoft have sparked particular interest today, and for good reason – they relate to a brand-new Rayman game from the company’s Milan studio.
Gathered on Reddit and shared by our friends at Nintendo Life, two job adverts were spotted for this upcoming Rayman project – one of which describes the game as a “AAA title”. These listings have now been removed, but here’s how they were presented beforehand:
“Ubisoft Milan is seeking a talented 3D Gameplay Animator to be involved in the production of a prestigious AAA title for the Rayman brand. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and content of gameplay animation assets align with the game’s vision.“
“Ubisoft Milan is looking for a Senior Game Designer who will work on the Rayman brand.”
Interestingly, Ubisoft Milan actually worked on the Nintendo-exclusive Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope most recently, but there’s no suggestion here that its next project will be a continuation of that partnership. Late last year, Ubisoft confirmed that this studio was working with Rayman Legends dev Ubi Montpellier on “an exploration phase of the Rayman brand”, which is surely what these new job posts relate to.
2013’s Legends was an absolutely fantastic platformer, and we’re excited to see where the series goes next. Here’s hoping this Ubisoft project sees the light of day sooner rather than later!
