The Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) will hold a press conference tomorrow to address what it describes as misleading and inaccurate articles published by a local media outlet in recent weeks.

According to a TTCB media release yesterday, the briefing, set for 11 a.m. at the Alloy Lequay Administration Centre in Balmain, Couva, aims to provide “factual clarity and correct the public record.”

TTCB said the reports in question have not only been factually incorrect but have also sensationalised internal matters, unfairly questioning the governance of the national cricket body.

While it was noted that the TTCB avoids commenting publicly on internal affairs, the Board felt compelled to respond in the interest of preserving public trust.

“The TTCB categorically rejects the inaccurate narratives being presented and views these publications as a serious misrepresentation of both the facts and the character of the Board,” the statement said.

The Board also expressed disappointment that a respected media house has “chosen to publish material that fails to meet basic standards of journalistic balance, accuracy, or fairness.”

TTCB attorneys will be on hand at tomorrow’s briefing to “lay out the facts and provide context” that the Board believes has been missing from recent coverage.

The TTCB also reiterated its commitment to transparency, good governance, and the ongoing development of cricket in Trinidad and Tobago and promised to take all appropriate steps to safeguard its reputation and that of the sport.
