What games should launch there first?

Well, there we have it, Nintendo Switch 2 is now officially released after years of waiting – and we promise we’re not getting FOMO over here, not at all. Anyway, brushing aside that massive lie, we’re curious to hear from any of you who’ve betrayed us and bought a Switch 2… should Microsoft embrace the system ASAP? And, what Xbox games would work best on the new hybrid console?
With Microsoft’s gung-ho approach to multiplatform these days — bringing in amazing results on PS5 — it seems inevitable that the Xbox owner embraces Switch 2 at some point. Team Green has been pretty quiet about the system so far, but to be fair, so has Nintendo. It’s been a very guarded launch from the Japanese firm, and we wouldn’t be surprised if Microsoft is only just starting to get fully acquainted with this thing.
Once the team gets there, though, we should start seeing Xbox games announced for the device. After all, it’s a much more powerful bit of kit than Switch 1, which means that it’s a lot more feasible to get Xbox games up and running on the system. Which games those will be remains to be seen, but it stands to reason that Microsoft will probably start with the games it’s already moving to PS5.
Those already-released titles aside, we must admit that we’d like to see Xbox announce come upcoming games for the system as well. The next Call of Duty feels a likely one, especially because the series has history with Nintendo consoles in the past. Oh, and remember the whole ActiBlizz drama? Well, Microsoft committed to bringing the famous FPS series to Nintendo consoles during all of those courtroom shenanigans back in 2022 and 2023.
All of that aside though, it really is anyone’s guess where Microsoft turns to first – we just hope it does so sooner rather than later, so we can justify buying one of these things… duh. But, for you, which Xbox games do you want to see on Switch 2? Which of Microsoft’s titles make most sense on the new hybrid console?
Talk to us about Xbox & Nintendo Switch 2 down in the comments.
