Why Fans Think Miley Cyrus Referenced Past Romance With Patrick Schwarzenegger

Miley Cyrus is giving the terminator his flowers.

In her latest visual album Something Beautiful, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival June 6, the pop star included a subtle nod to her ex-boyfriend Patrick Schwarzenegger’s dad: Arnold Schwarzenegger.

During the ninth track “Walk of Fame,” the 32-year-old fittingly struts down the Hollywood landmark while reflecting on her rise to fame. Miley then dropped to the floor, prominently rolling around on Arnold’s star. This quick reference is notable, considering it was filmed last October—nearly a decade after she and Patrick, 31, started their brief romance.

The former couple called it quits in April 2015 after five months of dating, but that didn’t stop the Hannah Montana alum from bonding with Arnold, 77, at the time. In fact, a year after the split, she and the Total Recall star had a friendly interaction in New York City

Though Miley hasn’t publicly talked about Patrick—who is now engaged to Abby Champion—since their split, the duo quietly crossed paths at the 2025 Met Gala in May.

Arnold’s gold-plated star wasn’t the only hidden gem of the film, as Miley’s boyfriend Maxx Morando also appeared in the scene. The Liily drummer can be seen leaning against the wall as the Disney alum walked by. He also flaunted his drumming skills in the “End of the World” segment, and the duo later shared a kiss during the album’s final track, “Reborn.”

As for Miley’s filming location for “Walk of Fame,” she certainly risked her health to get the perfect shot. In fact, the Plastic Hearts singer revealed that she got an infection from the infamous sidewalk.

“I filmed this video in October, and by November on Thanksgiving, I was put in ICU for just a moment,” she revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live in May.

“My leg began to disintegrate around the kneecap area. And then the doctor goes, ‘Do you have any idea why you would have such a brutal infection on your kneecap?’”

And while she sustained a gnarly injury, Miley wouldn’t change a thing about the film.

“In every vision that I’ve had of this, it’s a dance between me and my audience,” she explained. “I want them to fall in love with the music and go participate and sing in the aisles. Like when people were pissed off at Wicked? I want to piss people off like that.”
