MANILA, Philippines — Acting Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte asked supporters of his father, detained former president Rodrigo Duterte, to gather in The Hague on Sept. 23 during the latter’s confirmation of charges hearing of the pre-trial judges of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
“Let’s all go here. Let’s meet here at the confirmation trial so that they will see… we’ve proven that in the midterm elections, we’ve proven that in 2016 when PRRD (former president Duterte) won and this confirmation trial, if they challenge us to make a demonstration, then we will also accept the challenge,” Mayor Duterte said in an interview posted on Alvin & Tourism Facebook page.
“Fight for your former president, Rodrigo Roa Duterte, be here in The Hague. We will gather ourselves peacefully and show all the support that we can,” the acting mayor added.
