Well this is a surprise! Out of nowhere, people have begun noticing today that Focus Entertainment has quietly announced a new game in the Plague Tale series, and it’s officially coming to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S in 2026.

It’s called Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, and you can actually watch the reveal trailer down below. No further details have been provided as of yet, and the trailer isn’t on YouTube or anything, so it seems this was revealed early.

Note: We can’t share the original post from Focus Entertainment, but here’s a repost from Twitter:

Was this being saved for the Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday? It’s pretty likely, so we’ll have to see if it shows up at the big event. It definitely feels like they’ve jumped the gun – surely it wasn’t meant to be announced so quietly!

Anyway, this is great news for fans of the Plague Tale series, which we definitely are. This one seems to be going down a different path with its whole “legacy” angle, so we’re intrigued to find out more very soon – hopefully Sunday.
