Seems a bit harsh!

A few weeks ago, we mentioned how Xbox’s Hellblade 2 had received more nominations than any other game at the BAFTA Game Awards for 2025, so it’s a little disappointing to see that it only took home one of those awards today.
That award is for Technical Achievement, with Hellblade 2 beating Astro Bot, Black Myth: Wukong, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Tiny Glade and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 in the process, so it outlasted some strong competition!
Elsewhere, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Sea Of Thieves also appeared on the nominations for various categories, but unfortunately couldn’t win any awards on the night. Here’s the full list of winners courtesy of BAFTA:
- Animation: Astro Bot
- Artistic Achievement: Neva
- Audio Achievement: Astro Bot
- Best Game: Astro Bot
- British Game: Thank Goodness You’re Here!
- Debut Game: Balatro
- Evolving Game: Vampire Survivors
- Family: Astro Bot
- Game Beyond Entertainment: Tales of Kenzera: Zau
- Game Design: Astro Bot
- Multiplayer: Helldivers 2
- Music: Helldivers 2
- Narrative: Metaphor: ReFantazio
- New IP: Still Wakes The Deep
- Performer In A Leading Role: Still Wakes The Deep
- Performer In A Supporting Role: Still Wakes The Deep
- Technical Achievement: Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2
As you can see, although Xbox might not have won many first-party awards at the BAFTAs this year, plenty of third-party games on Xbox did, including the likes of Balatro, Vampire Survivors, Metaphor: ReFantazio and Still Wakes The Deep.
If you’re interested, the full list of nominees is still available on the official BAFTA website as well.
