Police said Cameron Little, 57, began backcountry skiing and hiking from Guthega Power Station in the Snowy Mountains, Kosciuszko National Park, on September 4, 2025.

He was last heard from on Saturday, September 6; however, he has not been able to be contacted and has not been seen since, police said.

Mr Little was due to return on Saturday, September 13, and when he failed to return, Riverina Police District and Monaro Police District officers were alerted and began inquiries into his whereabouts.

This included a land and air search involving local police, with the assistance of PolAir, Rural Fire Service, SES, and National Parks and Wildlife Service.

Mr Little’s car – a blue Mitsubishi station wagon – has been found unattended at Guthega Power Station during the search.

Police said there were concerns for Mr Little’s welfare because he is an experienced hiker and skier, and his failure to return is out of character.

Mr Little is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall, of medium build, with a fair complexion, brown hair, and an unshaven grey beard.

He is believed to be travelling with a backpack.

Initial inquiries have led police to believe Cameron may still be in the Snowy Mountains back country area, in the vicinity of Mount Jagungal.

Anyone with information on Cameron’s whereabouts is urged to contact Queanbeyan Police Station or Triple Zero.

Information is managed on a confidential basis. and the public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
